Oophaga pumilio “Isla Solarte “
I (BB) kept my first Isla Solarte back in 1995, and it was the island I was most excited to visit when I first travelled to Panama in 2013 these bright orange frogs glow in the dense forest. In the vivarium they are constantly active and one of our boldest of O.pumilio. In recent years there has been a distinctive decrease in the captive population and it seems that females are now very hard to come by, we got lucky and are now able to start offering some of our babies albeit in very low numbers.
Distribution: Found only on Isla Solarte, Bocas del Toro province Panama.
Habitat: Often encountered in highly altered areas, including gardens as well as surrounding open forested areas, this morph can be encountered virtually on the beach!
