A wall of neatly overlapping leaves. Rhaphidophora hayi follows its support closely, turning the climbing surface into a feature.

In your tropical vivarium: Start against cork, tree fern or a damp textured background in your tropical vivarium. Guide new stems onto the surface so the leaves follow the support; trim when needed.

Care essentials: Filtered light, high humidity and gentle airflow. Keep the rooting area moist but aerated, with no standing water.

Also at home: Grow in a draining pot against a board or moss support inside a humid plant cabinet or terrarium display.

Plant details: Supplied established on a 30cm totem.
