Anolis marmoratus marmoratus “Trois rivieres”
Guadeloupe anoles are highly variable, 6 recognised subspecies and multiple intergrades and locality specific traits all looking a little different, our animals are believed to be Anolis marmoratus marmoratus, originating from the forest around Capesterre east of the Soufrière volcano. These are our own captive bred juveniles.
Distribution: Found only on the island of Basse-Terre, Guadeloupe, in the Trois rivieres area in the south east.
Habitat: Often encountered in highly altered areas, including gardens as well as surrounding open forested areas.
