  • Premium leaf litter – Cainito leaves

    Leaves of the Chrysophyllum cainito tree or Star apple as it is known globally. The tree is endemic to the Isthmus of Panama but has been domesticated and then distributed around the world. The leaves are tough lasting longer than any others we use at Fantastic Frogs, their curly nature makes them excellent enrichment for hunting frogs.  Available in 100g bags which are easily big enough to cover a 50cm x 50cm  viv floor.

    For a European tree species beech leaves look pretty authentic in a dart frog viv, ours have been treated soaked for 48hours in an amphibian safe disinfectant, then rinsed before being dried at a temperature above 47C before being heat sealed to keep them fresh.
